Getting Here

San Miguel de Allende's nearest international airport is the Aeropuerto del Bajio (BJX) in Leon, located 110 km (about 70 miles from San Miguel). It is served by Aeroméxico, Mexicana, Continental and American Airlines.

We highly recommend hiring a driver who will meet you at the airport and bring you to your villa.   One car will cost about $70, but check the price. A Suburban or van will be more expensive.

Some flights arrive late in the evening but we strongly suggest that you request a pickup and come straight to your villa rather than spending the night in Leon. You can also fly into Mexico City. From Mexico City it is a four hour drive.

Private PlaneSmall single engine planes can land directly at the San Miguel Airport which is right on the edge of town. For larger (twin engine and jet) aircraft we recommend the Queretaro Airport, which is about a 45 minutes drive from San Miguel.

DrivingIt is a full one day drive from the border at Laredo to San Miguel, with almost the entire highway being four lanes. On the drive, you bypass Monterrey making it a very straightforward and easy drive.
