History

Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Mexico Luxury Villas, History of MexicoIn the 1960s, Puerto Vallarta was not a planned resort town... just  a small fishing village of about 10,000 residents.

The town became world famous in 1964 when Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed there during the filming of Tennessee Williams's "Night of the Iguana". The press followed the couple, and many reporters began writing about the beauty and charm of the region. What followed is history… an increasingly large number of visitors came to this beautiful place and many made their homes here.

There is so much of the Mexican culture and history to explore here. Native crafts abound and historical buildings and sites are a treat to explore.
